Australia Post Continues To Provide Passport Services

Australia Post will continue to provide passport services across its 4000-strong post office network after receiving a 12 month extension from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT).

Executive General Manager Trusted eCommerce Services and Group Chief Digital Officer Andrew Walduck said the agreement will last until at least 30 June 2018 and builds on a service that Australia Post has provided to the community for over 30 years.

“As one of the most trusted brands in Australia, we successfully negotiated the ongoing provision of passport services for another 12 months and we are excited to be able to continue our long-standing partnership with DFAT,” Mr Walduck said.

“With more than 4,000 Post Offices nationally, Australians can continue to access passport services as they do today. This provides consumers with ease, choice and convenience in accessing this important government service.”
DFAT is conducting a procurement process for the provision of the passport services following 1 July 2018. A decision about the provision of services after 1 July 2018 will be made after the completion of a tender process by DFAT.
